The name is very fitting because the flavors in this cookie are what you’d find in your pantry around the holidays. Pistachios, cranberries, coconut, and white chocolate. It’s no surprise why they were a favorite this year!

Crimson Spice Champagne Cocktail

I love meal planning, especially this time of year for holiday dinners. I always try to have a signature cocktail and this year was no different, although I think I made the best one yet! I picked Crimson Spice Champagne Cocktail for a few reasons. One, I was really curious about making a syrup from cranberry juice cocktail and wanted to see how it would turn out with the aromatics. Two, I’ve never used star anise. Three, the Iron Bowl was Thanksgiving weekend and well, the name and color just kind of fit.

Still posting from Cookie Baking Day, so bear with me! How fantastic are White Chip Cran-Pistachio Cookies for the holidays! Green, red, and white all in one cookie! That is exactly why they made the list for cookie baking day 2014. I just can’t resist getting all matchy-matchy festive this time of year. This cookie is filled with pistachio flavor, a slight tang from dried cranberries, and a touch of sweet from the white chip morsels. Pistachio lovers rejoice!

Fall Harvest Popcorn

I’ve said many times before on this blog how I love “weird” combinations of food. If there’s an odd ingredient in a dish, I want to make it. I’m fascinated by ingredients I would never think to put together and how they usually end up working in a dish. Luckily my friend Carol is this way too and when she flipped through my Food Network magazine, she was drawn to their Name This Dish recipe. It’s popcorn with a savory twist mixed with pecans, cranberries, and apple chips. I’ve taken the liberty to name it Fall Harvest Popcorn, since I’m never as creative as the folks that win those naming contests. I’ll keep you posted on the winning name. This snack combination is perfect since it’s savory and sweet. No more vicious circles of snacking, just pure gluttony!

You know you’ve got a hit on your hands when you take a dessert to work and almost everyone tells you it’s the best you’ve made so far. I made these Lemon Cranberry Pie Bars for a coworker’s birthday and they were such a huge hit! If you’re a dessert lemon lover, especially the tart kind, you’ll go bonkers over these. I love the addition of cranberry, which is perfect for Thanksgiving coming up. The crust tastes like pie crust, but there’s no rolling! It’s a press-in-the-pan crust, so it couldn’t be easier.

Moroccan Salad with Cilantro Orange Dressing

I’m a big salad lover, especially ones with different flavors, textures, and unique ingredients. I made this Moroccan Salad with Cilantro Orange Dressing over the holiday weekend and it was fantastic. You can eat it warm or cold, and it makes a great light meal, but fills you up thanks to the bulgur. This recipe comes from the Everyday Healthy ebook, which I’m slowly eating my way through. Healthy can really taste good!

I really need to make more cheesecakes. I’m not sure how they tend to fall off my radar, but that gets remedied right now with White Chocolate Cranberry Cheesecake! Tender cheesecake marked with sweet white chocolate and topped with tart cranberries. It’s the perfect balance of flavor in a smooth, decadent dessert.

A gingersnap crust sprinkled with white chocolate, cranberries, candied orange peel, pistachios, and coconut. This is probably the easiest bar on the planet to make. You don’t even have to stir the butter and gingersnaps to make the crust!

We’ve made it to the last of the Cookie Baking Day cookies from 2013. It went by way too fast! I hope you enjoyed the selections from this year. I know we sure enjoyed eating them! Last but not least are the Vanilla Orange Cranberry Cookies. You will not believe how fabulous they smell. An entire orange is zested into the batter and makes the most glorious orange-scented cookies you will ever smell/eat. The classic combination of orange and cranberry is almost a must-have for the holidays!
